Last Hope, Inc. is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization that is dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of death-due pound, stray and abandoned animals. Through its many programs, Last Hope is attempting to reduce the tremendous cat and dog overpopulation problem on Long Island, encourage responsible and economical pet ownership, and transform the public image of the typical pound animal. Since 2015, Subaru retailers, like Hassett Subaru, have partnered together with local animal welfare organizations through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative to impact over 109,000 animals in need across the country.
In 2021, Subaru and their retailers helped over 36,000 animals get adopted last October, with 9% of those animals being Underdogs – dogs with special needs.
Once again, this year Hassett Subaru will support our local animal shelter through the Subaru Loves Pets Adoption Campaign with a month-long effort to help pets find loving homes in October.
Hassett will donate $100 for EVERY pet adopted from Last Hope Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation in Wantagh from October 1-31, 2022.

Hassett Subaru chose FCA (Familiy & Children’s Association) again this year as a community partner in their Subaru Share the Love Event that starts this November.
This week, FCA invited Hassett to their offices in Garden City for a “thank you” lunch. Based off the Subaru Share The Love Event that ran last year, a check for over $14,000 was presented to Jeff Reynolds, President/CEO! Jeff was extremely happy to receive this wonderful donation saying “While we are appreciative of this generous donation, it is even more meaningful to foster such a strong collaborative commitment to the community of Long Island with the amazing team at Hassett Subaru!”.
Over the last 14 years, Subaru has donated more than $227 million to national and local charities and nonprofits as part of their Subaru Love Promise initiative.
