When someone mentions off-roading, the Subaru Outback is often the first thing to come to mind. Its capable all-wheel drive and versatile, outdoorsy spirit has gained it a big group of cult followers. The new 2018 Subaru Outback promises to offer those same performance standards with an upscale twist that includes some cool new technology.
Beyond a new front- and rear-end exterior design, and a quieter cabin with upgraded, sophisticated materials, the 2018 Subaru Outback gets a buffed up media system. Previous models have featured the Starlink Multimedia system, which continues to be the media and information hub of the Outback. However, the standard 6.2-inch screen grows to 6.5 inches, and a new 8-inch screen is now available.
The Starlink system continues to offer standards like smartphone integration and audio streaming. The updated version in the 2018 Subaru Outback also offers new apps, including an eBird app which helps drivers find birdwatching locations—the perfect outdoor twist to a Subaru feature.
The rearview camera, the tire pressure monitoring system, and the Blind Spot Detection/Rear Cross Traffic Alert system have all been updated as well.
