Have you noticed more Subaru’s driving around lately? If you have, it’s probably because Subaru’s are selling like hotcakes lately! In fact, Subaru just recorded its best sales month ever last month. Well done, Subaru!
We think the reason why so many people are making the switch to Subaru in recent months is because people are starting to realize that Subaru’s aren’t just a fad. They are built to last, they’re loaded with safety features, every single Subaru model is a Top Safety Pick, they’re eco-friendly, and they look awesome.
What’s there not to love?
In a Jalopnik article entitled, “How America Got Its Crazy Crack-Like Addiction To Buying Subarus” they note that Consumer Reports has also been helping Subaru out a lot lately. According to the article, “This year (Consumer Reports) ranked Subaru at the top of their report cards, heaping praise on the Impreza, Legacy, Outback and BRZ. The redesigned 2014 Forester recently took home the top small SUV rating.”
No doubt these reviews have contributed greatly to Subarus recent success. Consumer Reports takes reviews seriously, and in turn, people take Consumer Reports seriously.

Breaking a world record is quite the feat and something that a lot of people have on their bucket list. And well, now Subaru can check that one off the list! Earlier this month 371 Subaru owners got together in the village of Itasca, Illinois and broke the record for “Largest Parade of Subaru Cars.” Sure, it’s a little bit of a wacky record, but they did it!
According to a recent press release by Subaru, “On Saturday, July 13, 2013, 371 Subaru owners from nine states broke the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ record for the “Largest Parade of Subaru Cars” in the world. In addition to breaking the record, Subaru and parade participants supported two very worthy charities — PAWS Chicago and Salute, Inc. Both organizations received $5,000 to support their individual areas of philanthropy.”
So basically it was just a great day for everyone. Money was raised for two great causes, and a world record was broken. How cool is that?

It seems like these days car makers are all about getting high-tech safety equipment in their cars to help keep the driver and passengers as safe as possible. And there’s nothing wrong with that! In fact, new Subaru vehicles are jam packed with awesome safety equipment. But we think that sometimes car makers need to just go back to the basics and think about the simple changes they can make to cars to make them much safer.
Lack of visibility, for example, is a big issue that has caused countless accidents. And this is an easy fix! The smaller the blind spot is, the better visibility will be. That’s probably why Consumer Reports went ahead and made a list of cars with the best visibility.
According to Consumer Reports, “Being able to see out and around a vehicle from the driver’s seat can directly impact your safety and those around you. Vehicles with big blind spots make it harder for driver’s to see other vehicles approaching, and even children or pets behind the vehicle. When a driver can’t see, it can be a recipe for disaster. Backup cameras and sensors can be helpful aids for those vehicles with poor visibility.”
The Subaru Outback was named to the list of cars with the best visibility. And that’s on top of already being named an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Not too shabby. Needless to say, if you’re looking for a great, safe, new car – Check out the Subaru Outback at Hassett Automotive.
