The Subaru WRX and WRX STI already have all they could possibly want when it comes to power and handling, so the upgrades they’ll be getting for the 2016 model year will be in the form of extra safety and convenience technologies.
All models are getting the new 6.2-inch Starlink infotainment system, including a rearview camera. Vehicles with navigation will get a 7-inch version.
The top-of-the-line Limited trim with Sport Lineartronic transmission (a fancy name for a CVT) gets the new EyeSight system as an option, which includes adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The six-speed manual gets blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert instead.
In addition, the WRX STI Limited is now available with a low-profile rear trunk spoiler. We prefer the big wing at Hassett Automotive, but the spoiler comes at no additional cost, so it’s definitely a bargain if the big wing doesn’t seem worth the money to you!
There are many qualities consumers look for in a new car. One of the most important happens to be connectivity. As the need to stay connected increases—including while driving—so does the distracted driving rate. To help reduce the amount of distracted driving happening in Ford cars, Ford Motor Company is teaming up with the Life360 app to help you keep in touch with family and friends while driving.
“Responsible driving habits are top priorities at Ford Motor Company, and we are pleased to be working with Life360 to help reduce driver distractions,” said Julius Marchwicki, Ford Connected Services Product manager. “With the integration of Life360 Drive Mode, we are helping keep drivers’ attention on the road by letting their loved ones know that they are behind the wheel, encouraging family members and friends to hold off on sending texts.”
As part of the Ford Sync infotainment system, Ford uses an all-new Drive Mode feature on the Life360 app, which helps friends and family keep track of where you are. Drive Mode alerts members of your contact list in Life360 that you are behind the wheel, discouraging them from texting you while driving.
The Sync system is available in Ford Motor Company vehicles now, so make sure you visit Hassett Automotive and check out the all-new system for yourself.
