Since 2008, Subaru has manufactured the best-selling all-wheel-drive (AWD) cars on America’s roads and highways. Furthermore, it’s the only manufacturer that’s earned the IIHS Top Safety Picks for every one of its models the last four years in a row. What really sets Subaru apart, however, is that despite these achievements, their exciting new 2014 line still manages to go beyond what’s come before.
All nine vehicles in the new model lineup are designed to fit into their drivers’ active lifestyles. Take the 2014 Subaru Outback, for example…already the best-selling AWD car in America, new additions like adaptive shift control with Lineartronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) make the new year model even more desirable. And since it also comes with available Aha™ infotainment and Subaru’s exclusive EyeSight driver-assist system, the 2014 Outback is even better to go out in, wherever it’s going.
America’s most fuel-efficient AWD crossover with its 33-mpg highway rating, the new Subaru XV Crosstrek is equally comfortable on local streets or wilderness trails, thanks in part to its 8.7-inch ground clearance. It too possesses Subaru’s Aha™ infotainment system, as well as a full cadre of genuine Subaru accessories. A soon-to-be-introduced XV Crosstrek Hybrid model will also feature HEV-type Lineartronic CVT.
Virtually all-new for 2014 is the Subaru Forester. The enhanced 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged Boxer engine provides the power to go virtually wherever one’s heart desires, plus great fuel efficiency with a 32-mpg highway rating. This year’s model, however, comes with a lot of exciting and new features, including available power rear gate, keyless access and start system, Lineartronic CVT, and Aha™ infotainment. Of course, one remaining asset is Subaru’s legendary AWD capability.
Subaru’s traditional sports car, the BRZ, remains one of the lightest and lowest in its class, with responsive handling that makes the journey as pleasurable as reaching its desired destination. The BRZ’s naturally-aspirated, direct-injected BOXER engine produces 100-hp per liter, resulting in 100-hp and 150 foot-pounds of torque for exceptional pick-up and performance, yet is still roomy enough to take luggage and two sets of golf clubs along for the ride. For 2014, all this is complemented by its available Aha™ infotainment system, both driver and front-passenger knee pads, and revised badging.
At 36-mpg highway, the 2014 Subaru Impreza remains Americans most fuel-efficient AWD car, as well as one with low emissions, thanks to its PZEV-certified BOXER engine. In its new incarnation, Impreza is again available in four- and five-door body styles, both featuring a flexible cargo area and available state-of-the-art navigation assistance. However, for 2014, it comes with the new Aha™ infotainment system, and certain models are also equipped with a rear-vision camera for greater safety.
The other models — Tribeca, Legacy, and both WRX and WRX STI — are all equally impressive for the upcoming model year, offering today’s driver the complete spectrum of automotive superiority. “Subaru has done an amazing job with all its lines for 2014,” says Matt Fusco, Subaru Sales Manager at Hassett of Wantagh. “Whatever our customers are looking for in a vehicle, I promise these new Subarus will not disappoint. I invite everyone to visit our showroom on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh to see and experience these remarkable new models for themselves.”
The Golden Globes, The Grammys. Oscars. Outstanding awards, one and all. Yet, if there were an awards show for automotive performance, 2011 would be another “sweep” year for Subaru.
Once again, Subaru has won the accolades and acclaim in every category in which it was competing, garnering praise from both industry professionals and auto enthusiasts alike. “Well, you start with the fact that all Subaru models rank as the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive (AWD) vehicles in America,” notes John Fannuzi, Subaru Sales Manager at Hassett of Wantagh, Long Island. “Then, when you add in each model’s other amazing attributes, it’s easy to see why Subaru wins so many awards. And why 19 out of 20 Subaru vehicles built in the last decade are still on the road.”
Take the 2011 Subaru Impreza, for example. According to Polk,, it’s been the best-selling AWD car in its segment for the last five years. The Impreza also, once again, is a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), having earned top ratings in all three of its crash tests: offset frontal, side, and rear impact. As with its “cousin”, the Impreza WRX has also led its segment’s best-seller list for five years running. Just as impressive is the “Best Resale Value” designation it received from Kelly Blue Book.
