One Facebook post started a chain of events that helped a nurse from Iowa, whose 2020 Ford Fusion car keys were accidentally thrown in the trash this weekend.
Amber Rock left her husband and two kids in Iowa to come and work at North Shore Plainview Hospital as a travelling nurse to help during the Corona virus pandemic. As she was leaving from her shift at the hospital, she realized her bag with her keys was missing. Amber now had no way to get back to the motel she is staying at and had no idea where to start to get new keys for the car. Her c-worker, Steve Clarke, put out a Facebook post asking if anyone could help her.
Karen Fatta, our Office Manager at Hassett, saw the post on her neighbors Facebook feed on Sunday night. She immediately called, Marc Zergebel, Hassett’s VP/General Manager, and told him of Amber’s problem. Marc said to have her car towed to the dealership Monday morning. Service & Parts hooked the car up to the computer to program a new key. By the end of the day, Amber had her new set of keys! Karen went a step further and delivered the car to Amber that night.
Marc Zergebel was so moved that Amber left her family in Iowa to come to Long Island, that he offered to replace her keys at no charge! “Hassett was happy to do our part and help Amber out in these difficult times”. Needless to say, Amber was very grateful.

When you think about reliability, capability, high performance and fuel economy, you think about Ford Trucks. Don’t you?Well you should. The new F150 Series is quicker, quieter, and more refined than its previous models and is backed by decades of Ford’s innovative breakthroughs. It’s no wonder why the F-150 King Ranch is becoming America’s Best Selling Truck with so many new improvements and features.
Designed with the best combination of torque, capability and fuel economy, this new series is one you can trust and depend on. Offering a choice of engines, the 5.0L V8 gas motor or the 3.5L twin turbo EcoBoost with 365 horsepower and 420 lbs of torque, either engine won’t disappoint. This high performance motor is built to be the best in its class. As Ford’s premier motor, the EcoBoost has more horsepower and more torque than any other V8 motors on the market today. The F150 King Ranch outperforms any other truck second to none.
It fits in perfectly on Manhattan’s busiest streets. And is equally at home on a distant back country road. Best of all, the new Subaru 2013 XV Crosstrek is just what planet Earth ordered.
The latest crossover from Subaru, the 2013 Crosstrek is a Partial Zero Emission Vehicle that has already earned the distinction of being the most fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive (AWD) crossover in America. Having already impressed European audiences at last year’s Frankfort Auto Show, as well as the thousands who attended the 2012 New York Auto Show, this amazing vehicle is ready to make its Long Island debut at Hassett Subaru of Wantagh on Monday, October 1st.
“Customers and staff alike are excited about the Crosstrek’s arrival,” states Hassett Subaru Manager Matt Fusco. “We’ve already had a lot of people place pre-orders for one, and are still accepting them daily. I think the excitement stems from there being so many things to like about the Crosstrek, from its 25 city/33 highway mileage and low emissions to the responsive steering and AWD. Then there’s the fact that it’s made in a zero landfill plant. The more you know about the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek, the better it looks.”
Under the hood, the XV Crosstrek features a 148hp, 2.0-liter “Boxer®-four” engine, which gives it a low center of gravity for quick response. Then there’s the enhanced 8.7 inches of ground clearance, integrated roof rails, and “Lineatronic Continuous End” technology that transmits power to all four wheels simultaneously for superior traction and handling. And even a perfunctory study of the interior reveals an abundance of rear-seat legroom and convenient storage compartments, Fold down the rear seats and the XV Crosstrek reveals a flat-load surface with over 50 cubic feet of space. Finally, a standard cargo cover allows owners to keep valuables hidden when the back seat is in place.
According to Fusco, Subaru is offering the 2013 XV Crosstrek in two models: Premium and Limited Trim. Both possess a wealth of exciting features including a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio controls; Bluetooth phone integration and audio streaming; power doors, locks, and windows; security system; iPod control; and USB/auxiliary in-jacks. Additionally, while the Premium model is characterized by a multi-functional screen to display information on fuel economy and an advanced security system with engine immobilizer, the Limited Trim version will provide leather upholstery, automatic climate control, a camera that can record behind the vehicle and display what it sees on a 4.3 “screen, and automatic lights.
“Whichever model a customer prefers, buying a new Subaru XV CrossTrek from Hassett of Wantagh is the fast track to being a happy driver,” adds Fusco. “That’s because we’re the only dealer that includes the ‘Hassett Advantage’ with every purchase. From our huge inventory of Subarus to highly-competitive pricing and expert service, we make sure Hassett Subaru owners have it all.”
