For many people, fall is the perfect time of year. The temperatures cool down, beautiful autumn colors are everywhere, and, of course, you can get pumpkin-flavored everything. Fall is also an ideal time of year for festivals. Here are some of the best fall festivals on Long Island this year.
- Valley Stream Firemen’s Carnival. Have fun while raising money for the Valley Stream Fire Department. This fun-filled festival runs from September 21st through 25th at Arthur J. Hendrickson Park in Valley Stream.
- Cedar Beach Blues Festival. For the 26th year in a row, this music festival is returning to the Long Island Maritime Museum. Stop by October 1st or 2nd for some great live music, local art, and tons of fun.
- Long Island Fall Festival. Held October 7th through the 10th in Huntington, this festival is always a favorite for Long Island residents. Admission to the festival is free. The fun will include live entertainment, food, a world-class carnival, hundreds of vendors, a beer and wine tent, farmer’s market, and more.
- Chili Cook Off and Fall Festival. If chili is a staple in your diet, be sure to head to Ronkonkoma October 15th for the 6th Annual Chili Cook Off. There will be both meat and vegan chili dishes along with other food, live music, children’s games, and local vendors.
