The all-new Ford F-150 has been named the Truck/Utility of the Year at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, marking the truck’s eighth win in the award’s 22-year history.
The 2015 Ford F-150 was picked over the Chevrolet Colorado and Lincoln MKC by more than 50 veteran journalists to win the Truck of the Year award, based on factors like innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction, and value.
Ford’s popular truck is all-new for the 2015 model year and presented as the “toughest, smartest, and most capable F-150 ever,” according to the judges. It features a military-grade aluminum-alloy body and high-strength steel frame to shed up to 700 lbs, resulting in more efficiency and maneuverability without compromising capability. In fact, it can tow up to 1,100 lbs and haul 530 lbs more than the outgoing model—and still get up to 26 mpg on the highway!
It also comes with tons of new perks, upgrades, and nifty technology to keep occupants comfortable, safe, and happy. Read the official press release for all the details about it, and check out the new F-150 at Hassett Automotive.
