When it comes to ice scrapers, a lot of people just use some whatever they found at the store, or whatever they’ve gotten from a family member, or something that’s been sitting in their trunk or back seat for so long that they can’t really remember where it came from originally. Those who are really unprepared often end up using their sleeve to wipe snow off of their windshield, and then sit in their car waiting for the defroster to take care of the rest. But have you ever done some real research into what the best ice scrapers available are?
Fortunately, you don’t have to: the folks at thesweethome.com went ahead and did the legwork for you. Their number one recommendation? The Hopkins 14039 Sub Zero Extendable 50-inch Crossover Snow Broom, which sells for $18 on Amazon and has a long (and extendable) handle, comfortable grip, and well-angled blade for scraping ice. The runner up was the Dart Seasonal Products CB99 38” to 62” Telescopic Snow Removal Car Brush with Ice Scraper, which is almost just as good (but a little pricier) when compared to the Hopkins Snow Broom.
Do you have a favorite model that you think deserves to be in the conversation of best ice scrapers of all time? Here at Hassett Automotive, we’d love to hear from you in the comments!
