Long months of anticipation will soon be over…
on March 29, the completely redesigned 2014 Subaru Forester will be formally introduced to the world at the New York Auto Show inside the Big Apple’s Jacob Javits Center. At roughly the same time, Hassett Subaru of Wantagh will welcome its first models of this exciting new SUV-crossover into its showroom on Sunrise Highway.
It’s extremely safe to say the excitement levels at both locations will be off the charts…and that a whole lot of pulses are going to be racing when they see it.
What’s really exciting is that the 2014 Subaru Forester deserves it all.
“The company has done an amazing re-design with the new Forester,” says Matt Fusco, Subaru Sales Manager at Hassett of Wantagh. “Too often, manufacturers attempt something like this, and the results are less than impressive. But Subaru has managed to improve on past models while preserving the elements everyone loved about them, like their famous Symmerical All-Wheel-Drive (AWD). Quite a few customers have already pre-ordered their 2014 Forester, and earned a $250 rebate to go with their assurance of the color they want. Anyone interested can still get it on this offer with just a call.”
Under its fresh, stylish exterior, the new Forester — and every Subaru vehicle — features the Subaru BOXER® engine, so-named because its ‘punch-counterpunch’ movements of its pistons cancel out each other to provide a smoother running engine without the need for additional components. The horizontal movement of the pistons also gives the BOXER® a flat, low profile which can provide a lower center of gravity that helps deliver quicker handling response and flat, confident cornering.
Another crowd-pleasing feature of the 2014 Forester BOXER engine is the improved gas mileage over its predecessors, a combined 32mpg. And Subaru also offers the option of a 250-hp turbo-charged version. This exceptional fuel efficiency also comes from the Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission, or CVT, that allows the engine to operate far more economically while giving the 2014 Forester maximum agility. Drivers will be quick to notice the quicker acceleration the CVT makes possible, as well.
Early industry buzz has been very positive thus far, heightening expectations for a highly-successful New York debut. ConsumerReports.org had this to say: “…a lot of small SUVs grow sleeker with each redesign, reducing visibility and cargo space…the Forester is a refreshing contrast.”And MotorTrendOnline gave it “gold stars all around.”
Of course, the latest in the proud Forester line comes with all the technological options one could want, including Bluetooth, GPS, and satellite radio, to name just a few. “The 2014 Subaru Forester has it all,” notes Fusco, “especially at Hassett, where it has a starting price of just $22,825, and comes with Hassett’s exclusive Customer Advantage Program. And, again, there’s an extra $250 rebate with pre-orders.”
“We’re expecting a very exciting March in our Subaru showroom,” adds Hassett Automotive General Sales Manager Lou Evans. “Whenever a new model has so much interest and ‘electricity’ weeks before its officially introduced, it’s pretty obvious what an impact it will have upon arrival.”
