The results are in and Ford’s 2012 F-150 pickup truck is clearly a special machine. How else would you explain winning more than 7 awards including Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year, Motor Week’s Driver’s Choice Award, and the Cars.com Work Truck of the Year? It seems that Ford’s fantastic half-ton pickup has picked-up another accolade from Truckin’ Magazine which has named the F-150 as their pick for Truck of the Year. Hassett of Wantagh is proud to stock such a dependable and hard-working truck.
So what about this particular truck makes it so outstanding? Truckin’ Magazine tested a slew of pickups by analyzing looks, driving dynamics, and design features. With a combination of modern styling, powerful yet economic performance, and plenty of other features, the 2012 Ford F-150 half-ton pickup brings a versatility that other trucks can only dream of.
“Ford stepped up to the plate and hit a grand slam with the EcoBoost F-150 FX2,” said Truckin’ Magazine’s editor Maxwell Matthewson. “They gave the consumer everything they wanted in one package: impeccable styling, remarkable performance, and gas mileage that doesn’t punch you in the gut at the fuel pump.”
The F-150 didn’t become the Truck of the Year simply by out-classing rivals with style; it also boasts 22 miles per gallon highway which is superior to the fullsize V6 and V8 competition as well as many midsize pickups with V6 engines. Although the 2012 Ford F-150 gets great gas mileage don’t think for a second that it doesn’t have the horsepower to get the job done in any situation. The 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine pumps out a monstrous 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque for efficient towing and hauling. No matter what the job entails the F-150 EcoBoost is up for the challenge.
