New York once again will be playing host to one of the largest automotive events in the world as the International Auto Show hits the Big Apple in April. Like many other manufacturers, Subaru will be demonstrating the upgrades planned for future models. The next generation 2013 Subaru Legacy and Outback will share the limelight at NYIAS and Hassett Highlights will be sure to stay current on any breaking news.
Subaru has already given us some information including the fact that 2.5i trim Legacy models will be getting the brand new 2.5 DOHC boxer four-cylinder which puts out an impressive 173 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. Also new on the Legacy will be the addition of Subaru’s fantastic CVT gearbox which should net an impressive 32 mpg hwy and 27 mpg.
Subaru’s new Outback model is refreshed as well boasting 24/30/26 miles per gallon ratings and nearly 9” of ground clearance. Both the Legacy and Outback will be available with an optional 3.6-liter flat-six-cylinder powerhouse that will push out up to 256 horsepower and as with all Subaru’s all-wheel drive will be standard.
Technology has always been a strong suit of Subaru models and the next generation of models is no different. Adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, and vehicle lane departure warning systems will all be available in the 2013 Legacy and Outback. Also a 7” navigation touch screen will be added for the top of the line trim levels.
