This March, American automaker Ford has released the first widespread update for their acclaimed MyFord Touch infotainment system. Customers can bring their Ford or Lincoln vehicles that are already equipped MyFord/MyLincoln Touch in to Hassett of Wantagh and receive a free update which will take roughly an hour to install.
Known as a car manufacturer first, Ford has shown its innovative technology on numerous occasions and has even teamed up with Microsoft to deliver systems like SYNC and MyFord Touch. Ford’s VP of product development, Derrick Kuzak, believes that the focus on improving technology has given Ford the edge in the competition.
“What has really kept [Ford] in the lead is our dedication to continuous improvement of the product,” commented Kuzak.
When customers receive the MyFord/MyLincoln Touch update over 1,000 screens will be overhauled with components getting simplified for safer driving with fewer distractions. Ford’s March update will be the same included with each new 2013 model equipped with MyFord/MyLincoln Touch. Also included with the update is seamless integration for customers using tablets like Apple’s iPad and support for Audible.com’s audio books.
