This fall, Subaru will be releasing a the 2013 XV Crosstrek which is a practical alternative to the hordes of other compact crossovers being released by nearly every major brand. Of course, Subaru’s patented four-wheel drive will be present as well as a number of other features which make the XV extremely capable in many different locales.
Harkening back to the Impreza Outback, the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek brings back fun driving dynamics, Subaru AWD, and the classic boxer engine set up that the Japanese automaker has become famous for. Currently it has been stated that the XV Crosstrek will come with a possible 2.0-liter four cylinder engine and a smooth Continuously Variable Transmission or a six speed manual gearbox for optimal fuel economy.
Subaru design chief Masahiko Kobayashi claims that the XV’s styling and layout were inspired by practicality. “We are seeing practical things becoming more fashionable. Cameras used to only be available in black, but now you can have one in a range of different colors without sacrificing its functionality,” said Kobayashi-san. His hope is that consumers realize that stylish design can also go hand in hand with capable performance.
Hassett of Wantagh is extremely excited to have this vehicle in showrooms in the near future. Please visit our website and enjoy this video of the XV to tithe you over until the release date:
