OK, your little party to welcome the 2011 Ford Explorer turned into a huge bash … so how do you follow it up?
With another party, of course, and another terrific truck – only this one has a little built-in boost.
Still basking in the afterglow of last month’s uber-successful Explorer affair, Hassett of Wantagh is gearing up to welcome the all-new Ford F-150 with another fantastic party – featuring prizes, food and Hassett’s legendary hospitality (not to mention chances to be the first drivers to test-drive the new 2011 models, long before anyone else!).
Speaking of firsts, Hassett – Long Island’s No. 1 Lincoln, Ford, Mercury dealer – is among the first dealerships in the country to present the 2011 F-150, flagship of Ford’s award-winning truck line. And the new F-150, which comes with a choice of four engines, is the first truck to feature Ford’s all-new EcoBoost™ engine system – a direct-injection, turbocharged marvel that produces a cooler, denser charge, generates more power per drop of fuel and virtually eliminates turbo lag.
While it’s busy maximizing fuel economy, the EcoBoost also generates an amazing 400 pounds/feet of torque – the muscle behind its 11,300-pound towing capacity, best among all full-size pickups
“It can also haul a payload over 3,000 pounds,” noted Lou Evans, Hassett of Wantagh’s general sales manager. “It’s truly amazing that they packed all that power into an engine this economical.”
Before green-lighting the EcoBoost for the assembly line, Ford engineers had to prove it was built Ford tough. So they subjected it to more than 1,900 hours of testing at full-boost conditions, and grueling thermal experiments that simulated 10 years of work in the harshest environments – and after all that, the EcoBoost came through purring. “EcoBoost is ready for any job you can give it,” Lou said. “And then some.”
Of course, Ford is all about variety, customization and meeting driver needs (one of many reasons the F-series has been America’s best-selling vehicles for decades). That’s why the new F-150 – which features a fully boxed frame that’s also rated strongest in its class – offers a variety of powerful engines, each tailored to the driver’s specific requirements.
Along with the EcoBoost, drivers can select from an all-new 3.7-liter V6 or a 5-liter V8 (each featuring Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing technology), or a new 6.2-liter V8, each of which hauls more cargo and tows heavier trailers than any competitor.
Drivers and enthusiasts can learn about these options and the F-150s other spectacular components – including an available rear-view camera system, Ford’s patented 720-degree approach to cab noise reduction, the available SelectShift™ automatic transmission and more standard safety features than any truck in its class – at Hassett’s EcoBoost Drive Event, scheduled for Dec. 15 at the Sunrise Highway dealership.
As usual, Hassett is pulling out all the stops: free food and beverages, giveaways (including a $2,000 Best Buy gift card!) and a chance to be among the first in the world to test-drive the new F-150 are just some of the attractions. And all F-150s sold at the event will include a complimentary two-year maintenance plan – a special holiday gift from Hassett to its loyal customers.
“When you offer a truck like this, it speaks for itself,” Lou noted. “Add food, prizes, free maintenance and the best deals you can find on the new F-150, and oh, yeah … it’s a party.”
The festivities unfold from 5 pm to 8 pm Dec. 15 at Hassett, located at 3530 Sunrise Highway in Wantagh.
